Introduction:
Those who know me, know my passion for this car. It’s all I talk about. It’s all I’ve been talking about for FIVE years of my life – after the discovery of it. Now, what got me into this car was way back in my childhood memories where a family member owned a cool looking GTS Coupe with rims on the back. It was considered to me, a really cool car.
Now, as always I got into anime, and being more racing and car minded – Initial D. Long story short, the Corolla was in there, and it was the main car. That, and the past love for Toyota’s surged my interest into the Corolla even more. After five years of searching for the right one, I’ve now found it.
Originally owned since 1985. Came with all options except power windows and A/C (I don’t like AC). It’s even got the privacy cover over the trunk, and a factory OEM spoiler on it. It also has the orig. Toyota Corolla GTS rims, which are known as pizza cutters. I bought the car through a friend who I played soccer with and a large shout-out for him since he got his Dad to sell it to me. Thanks Leslie. Now, as some of us know – our city has the tendency to use SALT which creates rust. My Corolla has rust, and alot of it. But being a project car, and what you’re going to read on the things going into it – you’ll see that, the rust will disappear.
What’s on it now:
- All factory parts, basically a non-tuned, non-modified Corolla. Orig. Paint, rims, interior and everything.
What’s been done:
- Pulled out the seats, FULLY cleaned the interior and trunk (looks great). I’m planning to post pictures soon of it once I get the sound system in it.
What’s going into it SOON:
Soon, meaning once it’s on the road (I give it a week, to a week and a half)
- New sunroof panel (old one is rusted)
- Magnaflow Exhaust (So loud, I probably will end up selling it)
- Alpine CDE9873RB (Very nice, MP3, Ipod – a fully loaded CD player)
- 10″ 300watt Rockford Fosgate P1, with a p2002 Rockford 600watt Amplifier
- 1984 Toyota Supra rims
- Oil Change and Filter
- New Clutch Slave Assembly.
Future Plans:
- Rust all gone
- Window Tint (Light Black)
- New Paint-job (Black) – stripped completely, rust professionally repaired
- New exhaust (Thinking a Cannonball)
- Performance air filter, Spark Plugs and Wires
- LSD
- Alpine Type S Speakers all around (Possibly a Type S 10″ as well)
- Interior redone and restitched (Black, with Red threads)
- Momo racing seats
- TRD Bottom end on the engine (all parts)
- Konig Rewinds, or Watanabe Rims
- Stage 1, or Stage 2 Turbo with Blow-off Valve and Inter-cooler
- Turbo timer
Those last two additions are iffy. I’m only looking for approx. 180 – 200hp. This is my plan, my dream and now it’s coming true. Slowly.
Here’s some pictures:
(Coming)
The day we brought the Corolla home.
Sitting in the garage, waiting to be driven.
*Current status: In the garage, with jacks under it. Waiting for Clutch Assembly.*
Why do you want the Mazda now? Sell it…
you faggit!
Mazda is good for project stuff.
Why sell it… ?
Seems like the pictures aren’t working. Working on a fix.
How much did you get it for again? And what is the total estimated cost of all those additions above?
The car was 1,000. Estimated costs to do all of the above is approx. $15,000 when I’m done.
